NZSL Club Trust is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to educating the community and raising awareness of Deaf culture in New Zealand. Based at 4 Rust Avenue, Whangārei, we run a range of events and courses throughout the year to encourage people to learn New Zealand’s official language in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
We strive to keep our courses low-cost and accessible, and whenever possible, we offer them free of charge. However, some operational costs are unavoidable, which means a small fee may be required for certain courses. Keep an eye out on our social media/emails for new updates for what’s happening in our space!
Whether you are experienced or beginner we welcome you to come and give it a go!
NZSL Course Breakdown: Our Courses run on skill/experience level and are broken down into the following. Across Mondays & Tuesdays(6pm -7pm, 7pm-8:30pm) and Thursdays Online (10am-11am)

The first lot of courses for 2026 will begin on the 10th of February 2026. Running for a 6/7-week block (Feb – March)
The second lot of courses will then start up again on the 21st of April 2026. Running for a 6/7-week block (April – June)
There will be no lessons taught during the NZ School Holidays.
