Free NZSL Classes

A series of free 6 weeks beginners NZSL in Whangarei.

This free course is funded with a grant from Te Huinga.

NZSL Courses available:
– 6 Weeks in Whangarei (2 hours per class, once a week for 6 weeks).

Students are required to do self-study practise.
Maximum of 12 students per class.
Students are required to attend minimum 3/4 of the course classes (4 of 6 weeks) for certificate of participation.

Unit 1 – 3 covers:
– Greetings
– Classroom
– Facial Expressions
– Actioning tasks
– Eye communication
– Numbers
– Alphabet
– Name common food and drink items
– Make and respond to requests and offers for basic wants and needs
– Ask and tell locations of familiar objects and locations in the immediate environment
– Express likes and dislikes
– Understand basic signs about emergency exit procedures
