Support Worker & Administration Support

Part‑Time – 20 Hours per Week (Potential to Increase to 35 Hours) Hourly Rate: $25–$30

We are seeking a culturally grounded, respectful, and adaptable individual to provide both personal support and administrative assistance. This role supports a disabled person and requires someone who values manaakitanga, cultural safety, and inclusive practice. The successful applicant will demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a genuine commitment to supporting independence and wellbeing.

Position Requirements

To ensure safety, reliability, and consistency in this role, applicants must:

    Be drug‑free (due to driving responsibilities)

    Hold a clean Restricted or Full NZ driver licence

    Demonstrate safe, attentive driving at all times

    Have no criminal convictions

    Be able to travel nationally and internationally when required

       – Private accommodation provided (except during Marae stays)

    Maintain personal independence and professional boundaries

    Have no dependent children, due to the unpredictable nature of the schedule

    Be physically capable of basic manual tasks (e.g. Lifting furniture, Artwork and other job-related work).

    Be comfortable working across all cultures, identities, and lifestyles

    Complete a Police Vetting process

Support Worker Responsibilities

(16 hours/week)

    General household duties: dishes, bathroom, toilet, floors, and general cleaning

    Driving to medical appointments, meetings, pharmacy visits, gym sessions, and community activities

    Occasional recreational outings (e.g., beach, hot pools)

    Use of a 4WD vehicle provided for all work‑related travel

    Supporting accessibility needs in a respectful, person‑centred manner

Administration Support Responsibilities

(4 hours/week)

    Data entry and invoicing

    Managing incoming and outgoing calls

    Calendar and appointment scheduling

    Project coordination, with potential for increased hours

    Assisting with funding and grant applications

    Required proficiency in:

        Microsoft Excel

        Xero

        Zoom, MS Teams, MS Office, and similar platforms

Preferred Skills

    Fluency or conversational ability in Te Reo Māori

    Willingness to learn New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL)

    Understanding of tikanga Māori and kaupapa‑based practice

    Awareness of accessibility needs and disability‑inclusive communication
